Tom Bihn Founder’s Briefcase

foundersbriefcase_16bEarlier today, Tom Bihn introduced two new products. One may be of interest to some one bag travelers.

The Tom Bihn Founder’s Briefcase may meet the requirements of those of you who like to travel light but are required to take quite a bit of company electronics for work.

The TB Founder’s Briefcase measures 17.7 x 12.4 x 6.1″/450 x 315 x 155 mm and weighs 2lbs, 9 oz/1170 grams.

It’s made of 420d HT nylon classic parapak. On the outside of one side are two smaller pockets. The other side has no pockets.

One one side of this one compartent bag, is a handy organizer that contains numerous pockets, a thick strip of webbing to attach items with belt clips, and a small, padded tablet compartment. (It’s located below the web strip.)

On the other sideĀ  is a checkpoint friendly laptop cache capable of handling a machine up to the size of the 15″ Macbook Pro.

One major option for this bag is the Packing Wedge. This removable pouch can hold a shirt and a change of underwear for when a trip may take you out of town overnight.

You may also notice that the inside and outside trim are in a new color: coyote brown.

The Tom Bihn Founder’s Briefcase lists for $220 and is available for pre-order.

Call me Batman but I love the idea of the webbing inside the pack. I use holsters for knives, multitools , flashlights, etc. and it would be nice to have an organized way to store them that way.

  2. I’ve been looking at soft-sided briefcases like this recently. I’m looking for something between a high-end leather case and a backpack for semi-professional settings. All of the pockets inside of this pack are great.
